My art was ripped off
Yesterday I received several emails saying that a jerk had posted a Myspace bulletin showing at least 4 of my images, stolen from misterreusch.com-----he'd removed my copyright symbol and signature, and was claiming that these were all examples of his work, and that they're all for sale.
He posted a Craigslist post too, saying the same. I saw this one, though not the Myspace bulletin, because I'd have to be one of his Myspace friends in order to do so.
I immediately notified Myspace and Craigslist of the copyright infringement, and sent him a Cease and Desist letter.

Thank you very much to everyone who sent me their support. This crap is so annoying. I work very hard to make the best pictures I can, and then seeing some total stranger steal it all, removing my signature, claiming it's his own.....What is wrong with people? . One image was of MY DOG. Another was a wedding invitation for my friends Josh and Rebecca of Arcane Nonesuch, the custom jewelry company I licensed my art to. Another was an illustration for the Boston Phoenix that won a New England Press Association Award. All 4 pieces have been sold to private buyers, all of whom could prove I created original, signed paintings they bought......that this jackass claims HE did.

He denied any knowledge of anything, though all the contact info pointed directly to him, and he claimed all his profile pages on various websites (myspace, model mayhem, deviant art, etc. with the same photos, same interests, same email addresses) were not actually him. He got so much hate mail from friends of mine that he threatened to sue me for "defamation of charector and false liability claim". When I called his bluff, everything changed. Suddenly it was all an evil plot by an ex-girlfriend out to ruin his good name.

AND IT WAS ALL A PUBLICITY STUNT TO PROMOTE HIS NEW ALBUM.

From his MySpace Blog:

"hahaha, I went so far out of my way to start drama, and now as I type this, probably a hundred different people are slandering me on a hundred different things.

All of these people will now hear my name and wonder who I am.. Sometimes that is just the best way for a busy man to sell."

What a piece of shit this guy is.

I can think of a lot better ways to spend an afternoon than typing with my fists, but the huge wave of support I received from my online friends, many of whom I've never met face to face, was really appreciated.
