The Boston debut of Dr. Sketchy's was a great success!

There was a huge turnout, silly contests and prizes, and everyone had a lot of fun. I drew Devilicia's 1-minute and 5-minute poses along with everyone else, then put on 2 different monster costumes to model with her for the 10 and 20-minute poses. There'll be more Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School Cabaret Life-Drawing Classes every 2nd Sunday at Great Scott in Allston. Thanks again to Molly Crabapple, Aliza from Truth Serum, Great Scott, and everyone who came out to drink and draw.

Gigantic Sketchbook Archive
I have tons of things I'm supposed to be doing but tonight decided it'd be fun to go through all 46 of my 100-page sketchbooks and start an online archive with drawings from each book. I posted the first book (fall 1989!) here:

anyways, I got a kick out of looking at all this old stuff and figured other people might, too. Ideally I'll be posting a sketchbook every 2 weeks or so until I'm caught up with my current sketchbook.

DR. SKETCHY'S IN THIS WEEK'S BOSTON PHOENIX

Phoenix Design Director Kristen Goodfriend just had me do a spot illustration for the little write-up they're giving the upcoming "Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School Cabaret Life Drawing Class" at Great Scott on February 11th. See my previous post for all the details. Thanks, Kristen! The Phoenix will be out this Thursday.
(P.S. Just confirmed: there will be a real, live monster accompanying Dr. Sketchy's model, Devilicia of Black Cat Burlesque, for your drawing pleasure!)
